Importing test cases from Excel is an additional feature that is provided by BQ platform. In order to do so, you simply need to follow a few simple steps.

Pre-requisite :

  • User should be on the Test Case screen

  • Excel sheet with test case in the below format should be available.

Please note that the columns marked with red color are mandatory.

Instructions :

  1. Click on Import button on bottom right corner.

  2. Select what type of test you wish to import - Manual or Automated.
    Let us assume we wish to import Manual tests.

  3. Click on Add file button and select the excel file you wish to import.

  4. Click on Upload button.
    A wizard will be launched.

  5. Map the column with the column names in your file.

  6. Click on Submit button.

The file will be imported successfully and a notification will be displayed

If the file has some issue while importing, the correct data will be imported successfully and the rejected records notification will be displayed.

The rejected records will be saved in your Downloads folder. The reason for the record to be rejected will be displayed in the rejected records file. You can fix the errors and re-import those records in the above mentioned manner.

You can verify the tests after they are imported.
