External Test Data

BQ also provides a feature to enter the test data values through excel files via the External Test Data option. It is a very easy process. The file needs to be added under External Test Data option and later needs to be used in the test case.

The data can be with or without headers.

Adding File to External Test Data :

  1. Click on Design option on the left pane.

     

  2. Click on External Test Data option.

     

  3. Click on Add Data File button.

     

  4. Enter the File Description in the Data File Details form.

     

  5. Click on Save button.

     

  6. Click on 'Drop files here or click to select a file to upload' area and select the file to upload or simply drag and drop the file to upload.

  7. The uploaded file will be displayed in the grid.

     

To use the test data file within a test case, the user needs to select the attached data file from the Data File dropdown in the Test Case Detail form.

Keyword setExcelRow needs to be added to the test case in order to fetch the row value from the excel file.
